Standing on Table Mountain, you see two oceans meet below you. A few days later you are in an open safari jeep at dawn, and a lioness walks right past, close enough to hear her breathing. South Africa gives you city, coast and wild Africa in one trip.

Visa for Indians
Indians need a South Africa visitor visa. You fill the application online and submit documents and biometrics at the visa centre (VFS Global) in India. South Africa does not charge a visa fee to Indian citizens – only the visa centre’s service charge applies. Processing typically takes one to three weeks, so apply about six weeks before travel. We prepare the itinerary and bookings for your file.
A 10-night itinerary
- Cape Town (4 nights): Table Mountain cable car, Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, Boulders Beach penguins, the V&A Waterfront and the Winelands.
- Garden Route (2 nights): Oudtshoorn’s ostrich farms and caves, Knysna lagoon.
- Sun City (2 nights): the Valley of Waves, Pilanesberg game drive.
- Kruger (2 nights): safari drives in search of the Big Five.
Do the safari at a private game lodge if you can – the guides, the sightings and the evenings by the fire are unforgettable.
When to go
Cape Town is sunniest from September to April. Safari viewing in Kruger is best in the dry season, May to September, when animals gather at water. September–October is a lovely compromise for both.

Food for Indian travellers
South Africa has a large Indian community, especially in Durban, and Indian restaurants are easy to find in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Most lodges happily prepare vegetarian meals on request.
