Visa for Indians

Indians apply for Uzbekistan’s e-Visa online on the official government portal. It allows a stay of up to 30 days, and processing usually takes two to three working days. Travel insurance is recommended and often requested.

A 6-night itinerary

  1. Tashkent (2 nights): Khast Imam complex, Chorsu Bazaar, the beautiful metro stations and Amir Timur Square.
  2. Samarkand (2 nights): the Registan, Gur-e-Amir mausoleum, Shah-i-Zinda and Bibi-Khanym Mosque – by the fast Afrosiyob train from Tashkent.
  3. Bukhara (2 nights): the Ark fortress, Po-i-Kalyan minaret, Lyabi-Hauz and the old trading domes.
Visit the Registan twice – once in daylight, once at night when it is lit up.

When to go

April to June and September to October are ideal – mild, sunny and perfect for walking. July and August are very hot; winter is cold but quiet and atmospheric.
