Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Auckland

Kia Ora! Welcome to New Zealand, the youngest country on Earth! On arrival in Auckland, 'The City of Sails', you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Auckland is a blend of islands, Polynesian culture, glistening harbours and modern city environment. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore the city and discover why it is one of the best places in the world to visit.

Day 2: Hobbiton Movie Set and Buffet Lunch - Auckland Return – SharedRedwoods

Become immersed in the magical world of the Lord of the Rings with a guided visit to Hobbiton. Enjoy a roundtrip transfer from Auckland and discover every corner of the iconic movie set with a guide. Eat lunch like a Hobbit at a mesmerizing, themed location. Meet your guide in Auckland and set off on a modern air-conditioned bus with onboard Wi-Fi. Discover the rolling hillsides, walkways and Hobbit holes from the movies and be expertly guided as you stroll around the set. Stand in the doorway and step inside of a Hobbit hole and see where the Hobbit Bilbo Baggins himself lived. Allow your guide to tell you interesting facts about how the movies were made. Top off your Middle Earth adventure with a beer, ale, cider, or ginger beer at the Green Dragon Inn. Finally, enjoy a full buffet lunch like a hobbit at the Party Marquee. Return to Matamata and rejoin the bus for your return to Auckland.

Day 3: Transfer from Auckland to Rotorua

Today check-out from your hotel and travel southeast to Rotorua, New Zealand's geothermal wonderland, steeped in Maori culture and history.

Day 4: Altitude & VIP Nightlights and Treewalk Combo - SharedMilford Sound Small Group

Experience the absolute best of the Redwoods, including the original Treewalk by both day and Night. Redwood Altitude is a fully guided 2 1/2 experience of ziplines and Indiana Jones style bridges at heights over 25 meters. Best of this combo gives you VIP access to Nightlights to avoid the entry queues and wait times (can be up to one hour waits in peak season) Great option for the adventurous couple or family. Tickets can be used over 48 hours. Meet at hanger 15 minutes before tour departure time for check in and pre tour info. Customers are then harnessed up and taken by their guides for a short walk to the entry of the course. The entry is a walk up a spiral staircase 25 meters into the Redwood canopy. Then proceed to make your way around the course, moving from platform to platform, crossing themed swing bridges and even zipping between the trees on 3 flying foxes. Along the way there are several stops where the guides provide customers with information on cultural history, the forest and information on a variety of plants and creatures found in the forest. The course ends with a descent down another spiral staircase before walking back to the starting point.

Day 5: Transfer from Rotorua to Queenstown

Today after breakfast, check-out from your hotel and hit the road to Queenstown. Upon reaching Queenstown, check-in to your hotel. Rest of the day is free for you to explore Queenstown on your own.

Day 6: All About Paradise Glenorchy - Afternoon tour

Join the Queenstown Expeditions on a fun, all terrain vehicle journey through the unique culture and landscapes that have shaped New Zealand's incredible identity. Enjoy some of the best scenery in the world! An absolute must for visitors to Queenstown and a real slice of New Zealand Paradise. Along the shoreline of Lake Wakatipu, you will take in some iconic photo stops before reaching Glenorchy. Your driver will provide a full commentary and GPS activated headsets will provide you with interactive storytelling commentary covering all aspects from farming, Maori Mythology in New Zealand to infamous movie locations from films such as The Lord of the Rings and Wolverine. You will get to enjoy a 'Farm Shed' experience, where you will experience a sheep shearing demonstration and meet farms animals which you can feed.

Day 7: Queenstown - Day at leisure

Today you are free to explore Queenstown on your own.

Day 8: Transfer from Queenstown to Christchurch

Today after breakfast, check-out from your hotel and hit the road to Christchurch. Upon reaching Christchurch, check-in to your hotel. Rest of the day is free for you to explore Christchurch on your own.

Day 9: Christchurch Sightseeing Including International Antarctic Centre – Shared

Experience the grand architecture, beautiful gardens, and scenic viewpoints on a half-day city tour of Christchurch. Wander through the Mona Vale Gardens with pretty ponds and water features, drive through the city center once, with its historic buildings and architecture now heavily destroyed and badly damaged by the earthquake that hit the city in February 2011. See for yourself both the destruction of the central city and the rebuilding that is taking place. You will view the botanical gardens in the central city and the seaside suburb of Sumner. Travel to the Sign of the Takahe to admire the spectacular views over the Canterbury Plains and Southern Alps. The tour then moves on to The International Antarctic Centre, which features a recreation of the atmosphere of Antarctica with a snow and ice experience, the blue penguin encounter, a 4-D movie experience, and an exhilarating Hagglund ride.

Day 10: Departure from Christchurch

This morning check-out from your hotel. You will be transferred to the airport to catch your return flight back home. Your tour ends with happy memories.
