This trip begins in Harare, the friendly capital, with its Shona stone sculpture, historic city centre and the extraordinary balancing rocks of Epworth., A half-day visit to Domboshava reveals ancient rock paintings and rural village life before you fly to Victoria Falls for a Zambezi sunset cruise, a guided walk along the falls and a scenic helicopter flight over the gorges. The tour can be tailor-made and departs on any day of the week for small groups.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Harare

Welcome to Zimbabwe. After immigration formalities, meet your driver outside the arrivals area for your transfer to the hotel. Check in and relax; the rest of the day is at leisure to rest or explore the city on your own.

Overnight: Harare

Day 2: Harare City Tour

After an early breakfast, set out to discover Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe. Highlights include the Shona sculpture gallery, Mbare Musika market, the old buildings of the city centre including the Parliament of Zimbabwe, and the balancing rocks at Epworth, one of Harare's oldest residential areas. Lunch is taken at Mukuvisi Woodlands.

Day 3: Domboshava & Village Tour

After breakfast, enjoy a half-day tour to Domboshava to see its ancient cave paintings, learn about the history of the local people and see daily life in a rural Zimbabwean homestead. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 4: Harare – Victoria Falls – Zambezi Sunset Cruise

After an early breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Victoria Falls, where you are met and taken to your hotel to check in and relax.

In the evening, take a short drive to the banks of the Zambezi for a sunset cruise with snacks and drinks on board, with a good chance of spotting wildlife coming down to the river to drink.

Day 5: Victoria Falls Guided Tour, Big Tree & Helicopter Flight

Mid-morning, your guide takes you to the entrance of the Victoria Falls and shares stories of the flora, fauna, history and geology of Mosi-oa-Tunya, the smoke that thunders. Visit the famous Big Tree, then enjoy lunch at your own expense at the Lookout Cafe, perched on the edge of the Batoka Gorge.

In the afternoon, take off on a short helicopter flight over the falls for a magnificent aerial view of Victoria Falls town, Livingstone in Zambia, the Zambezi National Park, the historic bridge and the winding Batoka Gorge.

Day 6: Victoria Falls – Harare – Departure

After an early breakfast, check out and transfer to Victoria Falls Airport for your flight to Harare and your onward journey home.
