Overview

The perfect short break in Taiwan's capital. See Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and Taipei 101, eat your way through Yongkang Street and three famous night markets (Ximen, Raohe and Shilin), and take a day trip to the north coast for the Yehliu Geopark rock formations, the rainbow houses of Zhengbin Fishing Harbour and the lantern-lit hillside town of Jiufen. Finish with Tamsui Old Street, the Beitou hot spring area and a pineapple-cake workshop. A no-shopping tour, great for first-timers, families and friends.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival – Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Taipei 101 & Ximen

Arrive at Taoyuan International Airport and meet your local guide. Visit Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall with its white building, blue-tiled roof and gardens, then Yongkang Street, famous for dumplings, cafés and desserts. See Taipei 101 (observatory ticket optional) and end the day at the lively Ximen district. Check in to your hotel.

Day 2: Yehliu Geopark, Zhengbin Harbour, Jiufen & Raohe Night Market

After breakfast, drive to Yehliu Geopark to see the famous 'Queen's Head' and other wind-carved rock formations. Visit Zhengbin Fishing Harbour in Keelung with its rainbow-painted waterfront houses. Continue to Jiufen Old Street, a hillside town of narrow lanes, teahouses and sea views. In the evening, visit Raohe Night Market and try its famous pepper buns. Breakfast and lunch included.

Day 3: Tamsui Old Street, Beitou Hot Springs & Shilin Night Market

Stroll the riverside Tamsui Old Street and try its fish crackers and iron eggs. Visit the Beitou Hot Spring Museum, set in a beautifully preserved bathhouse, and the steaming emerald lake of Beitou Thermal Valley. End the day at Shilin Night Market, Taipei's largest night market. Breakfast and lunch included.

Day 4: Pineapple Cake Workshop, Gloria Outlets & Departure

After breakfast, make your own pineapple cakes at a DIY workshop and shop at Gloria Outlets before your transfer to Taoyuan Airport for your flight home.
