Overview

Discover South Luangwa, one of Zambia's finest national parks, on a full-board safari that keeps you in the heart of the bush for four nights. Professionally guided game activities bring you face to face with elephants, lions, leopards, hippos, hyenas, buffalo and impala, along with three special residents found here – Thornicroft's giraffe, Cookson's wildebeest and Crawshay's zebra., South Luangwa is one of the few parks in Africa that allows night drives, and depending on the season you may also join a walking safari for a closer look at the park's ecology. Between drives, relax at the lodge's viewing deck and pool, or visit a local Kunda village to learn about the daily life, traditions and culture of the community.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Zambia – South Luangwa National Park

Welcome to Zambia! After landing at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka and completing formalities, connect to your flight to Mfuwe. On arrival at Mfuwe Airport, a representative meets you and transfers you to your lodge.

Check in and spend the evening settling in and unwinding after your journey. Lunch (flight dependent) and dinner included.

Day 2: South Luangwa National Park Safari

Rise early and venture into the magnificent South Luangwa National Park for professionally guided game viewing. Look out for elephants, lions, leopards, hippos, hyenas, impalas and buffalo, as well as the park's own Thornicroft's giraffe, Cookson's wildebeest and Crawshay's zebra.

South Luangwa is one of the few African parks that allows night drives, and depending on weather and season you may be able to join a walking safari for a detailed look at the park's ecology. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 3: South Luangwa Safari & Kunda Village Visit

Continue exploring on game drives and walks in an area famous for its rich variety of wildlife. Get close to the animals at the photography hide and viewing deck, and unwind at the lodge's facilities between activities.

You can also visit a local Kunda community village with your guide for around three hours, learning about the daily life, traditions and culture of its welcoming people. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 4: Day at Leisure in South Luangwa

The day is at your leisure. Book additional activities such as safari drives, nature walks or bird-watching outings at extra cost, or simply relax at the lodge. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 5: Departure from Mfuwe

After breakfast, your driver picks you up from the lodge and transfers you to Mfuwe Airport for your flight to Lusaka, where you connect to your international flight. Journey concludes.
