Overview

This is the complete Silk Route experience at an easy pace. After a night beside the Rishi Khola river and another in the hamlet of Lingtam, you spend a night high up in Zuluk before driving the spectacular Zigzag Road past Thambi Viewpoint, Gnathang Valley and Kupup Lake on your way to Gangtok., In Gangtok you can choose between a tour of the city's monasteries, waterfalls and viewpoints or an excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir. Homestays and guest houses, generous meals and a private vehicle make it a relaxed, memorable way to discover East Sikkim.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Bagdogra / NJP – Rishikhola

Pick-up from Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station and drive to Rishikhola. Check in and enjoy the natural beauty of the riverside.

Overnight: Rishikhola

Day 2: Rishikhola – Lingtam with Sightseeing

After breakfast, drive to Lingtam with sightseeing en route: Aritar Lake, Mankhim Viewpoint, Vinayak Mandir and Aritar Monastery.

Overnight: Lingtam

Day 3: Lingtam – Zuluk with Sightseeing

After breakfast, drive to Zuluk with sightseeing en route: the hanging bridge, the Bakuthar river, Kuekhola Falls and Padamchen Eco Nature Park.

Overnight: Zuluk

Day 4: Zuluk – Gangtok along the Silk Route

After breakfast, explore the Silk Route sights – Zuluk village, the famous Zigzag Road and Zigzag Viewpoint, Thambi Viewpoint, Tukla Valley, Gnathang Valley, Old Baba Mandir and Kupup Lake, before continuing to Gangtok. A visit to Nathula Pass can be added as an optional excursion at extra cost, subject to permit availability.

Day 5: Gangtok Sightseeing or Tsomgo Lake

After breakfast, set out on a local sightseeing tour of Gangtok covering Banjhakri Falls, Bakthang Falls, Gonjang Monastery, Tashi Viewpoint, Lasha Falls, Hurhure Dara, Ganesh Tok, Bhoot Bangla and Enchey Monastery.

Alternatively, you may choose an excursion to Tsomgo Lake, one of the highest Himalayan lakes, an oval-shaped lake in the East Sikkim Himalaya, followed by the Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial. Return to Gangtok and spend the evening on M.G. Marg, the city's popular shopping promenade (permits and road conditions permitting).

Day 6: Departure – Bagdogra / NJP

After breakfast, transfer to Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. Your tour ends with sweet memories of Sikkim.
