Overview

This private safari links the shimmering lakes of the Great Rift Valley with the legendary plains of the Masai Mara. Start beside freshwater Lake Naivasha with its hippos and colobus monkeys, spend two full days chasing the Big Five across the Mara, then finish at Lake Nakuru National Park, a sanctuary for rhinos and spectacular birdlife., You travel privately in a four-wheel-drive Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof, radio and charging points, accompanied by your own guide and binoculars for game viewing. All meals are included on a full-board basis, along with park entrance fees for the Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi Airport – Lake Naivasha

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you are greeted by our tour representative and driven to Lake Naivasha.

Check in, enjoy lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon you may choose an optional boat ride on the lake to see schools of hippos and abundant birdlife, and you might spot colobus monkeys in the lakeside acacia trees.

Overnight: Lake Naivasha

Day 2: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara

After an early breakfast, drive to the Masai Mara through scenic landscapes and rural Kenyan villages.

Check in at your camp, enjoy lunch and some rest, then set out on your first afternoon game drive, looking for lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino as well as giraffes, zebras and antelopes.

An optional visit to a Maasai village to learn about their traditions can be arranged.

Overnight: Masai Mara

Day 3: Full Day Game Drive in the Masai Mara

After an early breakfast, head out for a full-day game drive across plains teeming with lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs and buffaloes.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush, surrounded by the sounds of nature, before returning to camp for dinner.

Overnight: Masai Mara

Day 4: Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, check out and drive to Lake Nakuru.

Check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch, then embark on a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, looking for rhinos, buffaloes, waterbucks, lions and many bird species around the lake.

Dinner at the lodge.

Overnight: Lake Nakuru

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Nairobi Departure

After breakfast, check out and drive back to Nairobi.

Depending on your flight time, you may stop for souvenir shopping before being dropped at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home.
