Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Puri – Puri Temple Tour

On arrival at Puri Railway Station, our driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. After freshening up, set out to explore Puri, the coastal temple town on Odisha's eastern shore, popularly known as Jagannath Puri. Visit the sacred Jagannath Temple for darshan.

After lunch (own cost), continue with a temple tour covering Gundicha Temple, Astasambhu Temple, Markandeswar, Yajneswara and Pataleswara Temples, the Temple of the Seven Mother Goddesses and Mausima Temple. You can also visit Gour Vihar Ashram, Lokanath Temple, Nrusinghanath Temple, Sonar Gourang, Bedi Hanuman and Narendra Pokhari. Spend the evening browsing the beach market.

Overnight: Puri

Day 2: Puri – Konark – Puri

After breakfast, drive to Konark. Visit the Konark Sun Temple, a 13th-century UNESCO World Heritage Site designed in the form of a giant chariot dedicated to the Sun God, and admire its remarkable architecture. Continue to Chandrabhaga Beach, considered one of the finest beaches on India's eastern coast. Lunch on the way (own cost).

Return to Puri in the evening and explore the local market at leisure.

Overnight: Puri

Day 3: Puri – Chilika Lake – Departure

After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Drive to Alarnath Temple and on to Chilika Lake at Satapada, the largest brackish-water lagoon in Asia and a paradise for bird lovers and ornithologists, especially in winter when migratory birds arrive in large numbers. Look out for white-bellied sea eagles, greylag geese, purple moorhens, flamingos, jacanas and herons. A boat ride on the lake can be enjoyed (boating at own cost).

Return to Puri in the evening, relax on the beach and browse the Golden Beach market. Drop at Puri Railway Station by around nine in the evening to board your onward train.
