Overview

Discover a quieter side of the Darjeeling hills. Your first night is in Sittong, a peaceful hill village, with visits to the Sevoke Kalibari, the Coronation Bridge over the Teesta, Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary, Ahaldara viewpoint and the forest lake of Namthing Pokhri., Then head to Darjeeling, the Queen of the Hills, via the eco park at Lamahatta, the viewpoints of Tinchuley and the Peshok tea gardens. A sunrise at Tiger Hill and a full city tour complete this short, scenic break with homestay warmth and hill-town charm.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Bagdogra / NJP – Sittong

Welcome to Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. Drive to Sittong, visiting the Sevoke Kalibari and the Coronation Bridge on the way. Check in and have lunch, then visit Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary and Ahaldara, also known as Tagore Hill, for views of the surrounding hills and the Teesta river. Next stop is Namthing Pokhri, a Himalayan lake where the rare Himalayan newt breeds, before returning to your homestay.

Overnight: Sittong

Day 2: Sittong – Darjeeling via Lamahatta & Tinchuley

After breakfast, drive to Darjeeling, the Queen of the Hills, with sightseeing on the way at Lamahatta Eco Park, Tinchuley Viewpoint, Lover's Point and Peshok Tea Garden. Check in and enjoy the town in the evening.

Overnight: Darjeeling

Day 3: Darjeeling Sightseeing

Early in the morning, visit Tiger Hill for sunrise over Mount Kanchenjunga. After breakfast, enjoy a full-day city tour covering the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (closed on Thursdays), Tenzing Rock, a tea garden, the Japanese Temple, Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop.

Overnight: Darjeeling

Day 4: Departure – Bagdogra / NJP

After breakfast, drive to Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station for your onward journey.
