Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca – Tangier
Arrive at Casablanca Mohammed V Airport, where your driver will welcome you and transfer you to Tangier. Begin with the medina in the lower town, surrounded by fifteenth-century Portuguese walls – a maze of stalls, shops, teahouses and riads linked by narrow alleyways.
Visit the Petit Socco, once the meeting point of Tangier's wealthy, writers and artists, and still a lovely spot for mint tea and people-watching. Then visit the Kasbah Museum at the top of the medina, housed in the former Sultan's palace, with exhibits of local artefacts. Lunch at leisure. Check in at the hotel.
Overnight: Tangier
Day 2: Tangier – Cape Spartel & Caves of Hercules
After breakfast, meet your driver and head out of Tangier to Cape Spartel, the north-westernmost point of Africa, marked by its historic lighthouse. Below lie the spectacular Caves of Hercules where, legend says, the Greek hero rested; at the far end an opening shaped like Africa looks out to the Atlantic.
Later, stroll along the Corniche that stretches along the Bay of Tangier, with sandy beaches, a marina, restaurants and shops, and views across to the shores of Europe. Lunch at leisure.
Overnight: Tangier
Day 3: Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen
After breakfast, transfer to Chefchaouen. Begin your visit of the blue city, one of the most attractive places in northern Morocco, set in the Rif Mountains like a small piece of Andalusia – its blue houses, cobbled streets, restaurants and craft shops give it a special charm and a deep sense of peace. Lunch at leisure.
Overnight: Chefchaouen
Day 4: Chefchaouen – Fes
After breakfast, enjoy a last look at Chefchaouen's compact blue-washed medina with its red-tiled roofs, then continue by road to Fes. Lunch at leisure. Check in at your hotel.
Overnight: Fes
Day 5: Fes Medina Tour
After breakfast, enjoy a half-day visit of Fes, the oldest cultural and spiritual city in Morocco. Explore the medieval medina founded in the eighth century, with the Andalusian Mosque, the Al Quaraouiyine Mosque, historic madrasas and the famous Nejjarine fountain, followed by a walk through the souks.
