Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Budapest

Welcome to Hungary, Upon your arrival at Budapest, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Check-in and relax for some time, rest of the day is free for you to explore Budapest on your own.

Day 2: Budapest City Tour - Half Day Danube Cruise Tour

Join this Grand City Tour and see the most important attractions of Budapest. Enjoy the panoramic view from the hills of Buda and see the main sights on the Pest side. Finally, have a look at the interior of the Parliament with a professional, local guide. First, take the Elizabeth Bridge and drive over to Buda. Stop in the Castle District and during a short walk your guide will show you the main attractions of the area, including the National Library and the National Gallery. Then cross the Elisabeth Bridge to Pest and see the largest Synagogue of Europe and the City Park. Pass by Europe's largest thermal spa and the Budapest Zoo, after which you'll stop at the Heroes' Square (with statues of the most famous Hungarian kings and dukes). Next take the Andrássy Avenue to downtown Pest passing by the Opera House and St Stephen's Basilica. Then get off the bus again and take an interior visit of the impressive neo-gothic House of Parliament (guided tour included). During the tour you'll be offered a brief overview of the last 1000 years of Hungarian history. The tour ends at the House of Parliament. Discover why Budapest is called the Pearl of the Danube on a 2-hour cruise. Cruise beneath 6 bridges of Budapest and enjoy sights including the mighty House of Parliament, the Chain Bridge, the Buda Castle, the Fisherman’s Bastion up on the Hill of Buda and the Gellért mountain crowned by the majestic Citadella. Head up to the open balconies of the boat to experience views of Budapest by the riverbank. Purchase a drink from the bar, sip and relax while you are amazed by this beautiful city.

Day 3: Full day tour of Danube Bend

An excursion into Hungary's history: visit the three most beautiful cities in the Danube Bend. Enjoy the picturesque sights in all settlements and get acquainted with the Hungarian history along the "Blue Danube". Have an unforgettable boat tour back to Budapest. Esztergom: It used to be the capital of Hungary and is still the centre of the Catholic Church. You'll visit the largest cathedral of Hungary (also burial place of famous cardinals, like Primate József Mindszenty). Afterwards, drive across the river to Slovakia and enjoy the view over the Basilica. Visegrád: After the Mongol invasion a new fortification was constructed here in the mid-13th century. The top of the hill offers a fascinating panorama on the Danube valley. After enjoying the view there is an opportunity to have lunch (not included in the price). Szentendre: It is a small baroque city built on medieval ruins, located at the gate of the Danube Bend. The town is considered to be the Artists' Village or the Painters' Town. You'll walk around the historical centre and enjoy the cobblestoned narrow streets as well as the baroque houses. After the guided tour you can also visit some museums (e.g. the famous Margit Kovács Ceramic Museum or the Confectionery Museum with marzipan figures). During summer (May - 17th September, only on weekends) this tour returns to Budapest by boat. The tour ends in the city centre.

Day 4: Top hidden treasure region of Europe Lake Balaton Private tour

Spend a day away from the crowds of the capital without having to join a massive tour group. This private tour takes you a short distance southwest of Budapest to Lake Balaton, a sprawling lake surrounded by charming towns and rolling countryside. Cruise through your day at a leisurely pace with only your private guide by your side. Take a ferry cruise across the lake, walk around the historic village of Tihany (home to the 11th-century Benedictine Tihany Abbey) and enjoy the picturesque views from the Balatonfüred promenade.

Day 5: Departure from Budapest

This morning check-out from your hotel. Later you will be transferred to the airport to catch your return flight back home. Your tour ends with sweet memories
