Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Luang Prabang

Welcome to Laos, Arrival at Luang Prabang. Afterward, proceed to the hotel for your refreshment. Rest of the day is free at leisure by own arrangement. Back to the hotel, stay overnight.

Day 2: Full Day Hidden Gems of Luang Prabang

Explore the beauty of Luang Prabang's gorgeous temples and handicraft villages on a full-day tour of the UNESCO World Heritage site. Your guide will uncover unseen gems of this well-preserved ancient town and let you take part in cultural activities while enjoying the slow pace of life in Luang Prabang. Start in the early morning with a monks’ alms procession and finish with a sunset over WatPhabath. You will be picked up at your hotel in Luang Prabang early in the morning to experience the tranquility of the World Heritage–listed town at dawn. Observe Tak Bat, the monks' alms ceremony that takes place each morning on the streets. You will see monks in saffron robes walking in long, silent processions and accepting offerings left to them by devout Buddhists. Your personal guide will explain the significance of this ancient tradition. Next, walk to the morning market and absorb the vibrant atmosphere while trying some tasty food (own expense). Afterward, you will visit Van Senne, which translates as 'Temple of 100, 000 Treasures.' Then continue to Vat Xieng Thong, also known as the Temple of the Royal City, a vast complex of sacred buildings, considered the town's most beautiful temple. On a tour of the Luang Prabang Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre (TAEC), learn about the various ethnic tribes of Laos. After lunch (included), you'll transfer by car to Ban XangKhong and Ban XiengLek, villages famous for making traditional Saa paper made from mulberry. Used for writing, drawing, and a wide range of other products, it is the creativity that makes this paper a favorite item for visitors to Luang Prabang. Lastly, enjoy the magnificent sunset at WatPhabath and admire its combination of Thai, Lao, and Vietnamese architectural styles. When your full-day tour ends, you will be dropped off at your hotel.

Day 3: Full Day Luang Prabang, Pak Ou Caves and Mekong Cruise

After breakfast we visit the quaint Royal Palace Museum, which gives a good overview of the local history. We also visit the country’s most historic and enchanting temple Wat Xiengthong, with its roof sweeping low to the ground, representing the classical Luang Prabang style, we board a private boat for a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which gives us a panoramic view of the tranquil countryside. Our first stop is the village of Ban Muangkeo where we start a short trek to reach the mysterious caves of Pak Ou, two caves set in a limestone cliff facing the Mekong River crammed with thousands Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes. Lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the Mekong River. We then return to Luang Prabang by boat, stopping at the weaving and textile villages of Ban Xangkhong and Ban Nongxai. We arrive back in Luang Prabang by midafternoon where you have the option to climb Mount Phousi which offers a spectacular view over Luang Prabang and the Mekong River.

Day 4: Departure from Luang Prabang hotel to Airport - Arrival at Vientiane

Arrival at Vientiane. Afterward, proceed to the hotel for your refreshment. Rest of the day is free at leisure by own arrangement. Back to the hotel, stay overnight.

Day 5: Vientiane Full Day City Tour

In the morning time, we take a sightseeing tour of Vientiane, to visit religious museums of Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple to have been survived from the Siamese war of 1828 and its cloister contains more than 8000 Buddha statues; Ho Prakeo, the former home-temple of the Emerald Buddha statue or Pra Keo from the early time of Lane Xang Kingdom until 18th century, but today it contains a collection of Buddha statues, antiques and all artifacts found in around Vientiane; That Luang Stupa, the single most important monument in Laos, which was built to cover the original small stupa containing a piece of the chest bone of Buddha, That Luang serves as the main and symbolic stupa in Laos. It's also our national symbol and recognizable throughout the world, gathering place for national Buddhism ceremony. It's also the biggest stupa in Laos; Patouxay (Arch de Triumph), built quite recently in commemoration of those who died during the wars in the past and it is today as the land-mark of Vientiane. We make a lunch stop at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we continue the sightseeing tour to Carol Cassidy, a Gallery weaving Lao textiles and natural dye making process from A-Z; Buddha Park on the Mekong of which Buddha statues in modern style shapes. One of them is the, largest Recline Buddha in Laos. They were built by a Lao man in order to teach following generations about religions worldwide after his study in India. A larger park was built in Nong Khai, Thailand and his body has been kept there. We return to Vientiane in the late afternoon

Day 6: Half Day Excursion at Sunset Vientiane Foodie

Start the evening the local way by heading to a beer shop for a sundowner, sipping on a cold BeerLao as the sun sets over the Mekong River. Beer shops are popular post-work watering holes and the atmosphere is always enjoyable. After dark, the street stalls fire up their grills and start cooking. Take a walk through Sihom, an area of small stalls selling cheap but tasty snacks. Wander from stall to stall stopping to taste items such Lao-style donuts, bowls of steaming noodles and pork meatball wraps. Continue to nearby Ban Anou night market, the city's culinary hub. The market is a hive of activity in the evening with Vientiane's residents who come to dine with friends or family. Walk through the ends rows of food stalls and rub-elbows with the locals, sampling exotic snacks such as fried insects or classic Lao favourites like grilled pork skewers. Having filled up on savoury treats, venture to a hidden sweets shop for dessert. The specialty here is ice cream and sticky rice, an oddly delicious combination.

Day 7: Departure from Vientiane hotel to Airport

This morning, check-out from your hotel. Later you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home
